woah4 Posted June 22, 2014 Report Share Posted June 22, 2014 Alright so heres my latest volvo. First Rear wheel drive car volvo so this should be fun. Its a 960, White on black, from texas of all places, COMPLETLEY spotless, only issues with the car are blown engine (T belt went) taped moonroof (assuming leaked?) and sagging rear suspension. It has 150K kms on it and I couldnt pass it up.. I traded it with my buddy for my pegs. I feel it was a good deal. So now what to do with it... Im thinking a T6 swap is in order, they are fairly common and cheap engines around here and it should be generally easy to drop in. I'll keep it auto, MAYBE single turbo it, and just in general make it a complete sleeper. Any input or ideas is appriciated, I am pretty excited about it to say the least. woah4 Posted June 23, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 23, 2014 I have more research to do on the car itself, I BELIEVE 960's ran motronic, which if that is the Case I will probably run some kind of M4.4 setup. Otherwise likely megasquirt, but it will be a longish build so that may change. I really don't imagine the engine will be hard to swap either, I MAY even explore my supercharger setup a little on this car... If you can get someone to make a header of some sort, I'd adapt it to single turbo. Take a look at Darnells' S80 build for ideas on that. woah4 Posted June 23, 2014 Author Report Share Posted June 23, 2014 Yeah I was going to borrow his idea and do exactly that if it goes turbo. The twins are a waste of time in my opinion and I have read about interference issues between them and the passenger side engine mount. So it would be single converted anyway, I'm just sort of batting the idea around of using a T6 block, with the 960 intake and exhaust manifolds, and my eaton M90... I think it would make for a fun set up. As much as I would enjoy it to be a 5 speed car, in all honesty this will be a super budget project and used basically 100% for drag so it will be staying auto, for now at least Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
