woah4
Okay guys my car runs now and I am excited to get it rolling... But my rear engine mount will not work with this new turbo. I would love to see what people have created to get around this problem, I know I can make something but ideas on where to start are good, I'll post some pictures of the clearance I have later. Thanks everybody
laird
I have been using the stock mount, minus the stamped steel piece for 18 months, no trouble. I had to grind some of the aluminum as well to fit the 20g comp housing.
boxpin
Same as above but I am using the stamped steel piece with a relief cut into it.
woah4
So this should give a pretty good idea of my clearance..
fwdGTP
I'd worry more about putting the turbo on after the mount is actually on. Just keep grinding down part of the mount on the engine side until you can put the turbo on with the mount in place.
Avinitlarge
I know this suggestion is a bigger job but would give you plenty of clearance. Could you not use the AWD subframe and mount or modify the subframe to accept the AWD mount?

woah4
Not even close to working. The mount is sitting lower in this picture than it actually does also, because I can't get it to go where it actually has to, it is supposed to sit more to the right. I made a mount yesterday, we will see if it works
andyb5
You could make something like this mount:
Modman
You could make something like this mount: Would be cool if someone fabricated a nice amount of those
fwdGTP
I'd buy one just to support whoever makes them. If they're reasonably priced that is. And OP, I don't understand how you have so little space. I know it's kind of tight. but that's much less space than I have, unless that turbo just has a really large CHRA and Compressor Housing. woah4
It's crazy how little clearance I have. The turbo is very long and has a wide diameter for sure... Lol. I really like the way that mount looks but it would still give me the same clearance issues, it's sort of difficult to describe. I made a mount myself that HOPEFULLY will work. We shall see. Simply Volvo
Its because the on the ebay turbos the area where the turbine wheel fits into the turbine housing, its cast much lower than a garrett housing so it essentially pushes the turbo like 1/2" + lower.
