Yellow T5R Fair Market Value

Recommended Posts

Earlier this week I had a small incident with my yellow T-5R and the insurance adjuster is coming to look at the car on Thursday. They are under the impression that based on the age of the car that their is a very high probablity that they will total it. I am expecting a low ball offer for the car and I am in the process of trying to assemble some ammunition to combat their offer. I am looking for current listings of yellows for sale and any specs that show prodcution / import numbers. I found one listing off of cars.com and have an old graph that is in Dutch that I translated. I would greatly appreciate any links or literature you guys have or run across that might help me argue my case. I don't have unrealistic expectations of getting 10K for the car because its SUPER rare but I do think it should be valued higher than other 95 850s. TIA for all of your help!

The Wiki states production numbers and quantity of yellows to the USA

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volvo_850#T-5R

I also have the original Press release and on the last page it states

1000 north american 1995 my vehicles (included all available colors and 854 and 855)

I can scan it and email it to you if you need.

I have a "Actual" production amount paper from VCNA somewhere, I just need to find it

this is the exact reason Im buying a XC90, to get my yellow off the road.

But getting them to recognize the rarity is hard.

Damn that sucks man. If it helps I've still got the records from the previous owner detailing how much he spent on the car.

You going to buy it back and fix?

I will let you know about the service records and I definitely appreciate the offer. I am absolutely going to fix it.
