Collinite 845 Vs 915

Differences between the two.

I've been using 845 Insulator wax for a few years, the stuff seems to last forever and is easy to apply. I bought a can of 915 two years ago and used it on my Black 300c and it never seemed to hold up well. It made the car pop, but after a month it was gone.

I did my f-150 work truck on memorial day and also did my s70 the same week. Both were clayed before hand. The f-150 was done with 915 and had no beading after 4 weeks. The s70 was done with 845 and was still beading yesterday when I washed it.

In the past I usually saw good beading/protection for about 3-4 months with the 845. IF I layer it I'll see close to 5 months as long as I'm not going through the automatic car wash with it. When I did my new Ram I washed it and waxed it yesterday, waited 24 hours and waxed it again today. The finish is new so I'll keep track of how long it lasts with 2 applications on it.

915 really glows, but is short lived. I don't think it was designed for longevity anyway. 915 isn't easy to work with if you don't work it real thin or ANY uv light hits it. It's amazingly hard to work off if that happens. You also don't want to do more than one section/panel at a time. If it sits too long it's a pain.

845 doesn't glow as much, but seems to last forever. IF you layer it properly it will glow like the 915 does, it's also super easy to apply and take off. I can do my entire truck in under an hour with 845, it's that easy to use. I can do my Jeep in 30 minutes, which makes it worthwhile to do if I have an off-roading trip planned. You can also wax the entire vehicle at once and then buff out all at once, it won't turn to cement if it sits too long.

Not that I ever used 915, but this is exactly what the seller have told me. If you need long protection (f.e. 5 months winter) then use 845. For "show" 915.

I have used 845 the first time when I bought my volvo. Washed it, clayed it, polished it, waxed it. Then wax it about 2 times a year - before winter and after winter with 2 layers. Usually the next day the second layer.

Personally as this is my DD I think its glowing enough to turn heads what a clean car and as a DD it has some scratches, dents...so I prefer to protect it the best I can, from the weather too instead of trying to make it just shiny as a showcar.
