gilber33
Neither of the lower tail lights do not come on when the brake pedal is pressed. The top ones do. I haven't really started digging in yet, but I wanted to see if there were any common problems. All of my searches come up with 01+ results. kalvin
The lower lights (all 4 bulbs) are just tail lights/running lights. They won't illuminate until the headlight switch is turned on. The uppers are brake lights only and turn on only when the brake pedal is pressed.
gilber33
Ok, that makes sense. BUT, the lowers were not on even though the headlights were. Thoughts?
kalvin
Headlight switch off or on?
gilber33
It was on, but I switched it on and off several times and the tails came on. It's the top middle brake like that is out. I am completely unfamiliar with wagons and not sure if that light is on a fuse, or if it could really go out. I've never seen that whole light bar go out. I also found that the rear wiper does not work. Sooooo... I don't know if there is something controlling the whole hatch that could not provide power. BEJinFBK
Sounds like you need a new light switch and an afternoon to fix the broken wiring at your tailgate hinge.
JOHN_CENA
iirc, the p80 wagons have an issue with the wiring harness where the drivers side hinge is. it can wear through and make a short on the hatch.
gilber33
Sounds like you need a new light switch and an afternoon to fix the broken wiring at your tailgate hinge. The broken wiring, I think the few searches I've read sounds like that's kind of common-ish. Where is the wiring harness located? Thanks for the help. iirc, the p80 wagons have an issue with the wiring harness where the drivers side hinge is. it can wear through and make a short on the hatch. And that answers that. Thanks.
