Brad850
Say you have a considerable exhaust leak before the o2 sensor (lets assume the exhaust flange welds are leaking). Will this cause you to run rich or lean?
mattwebb502
It can allow outside air into the exhaust stream and contaminate it, causing a lean read on the o2, which will result in a rich running condition.
Brad850
Even if you can feel it pushing exhaust gas out?
mojojo
An exhaust leak is going to result in a lean condition. Engine management will attempt to correct the situation by adding fuel, but remember the ems has a small window to try and 'tune' this out.
