2.3....2.4L...same Head?

Hi all,

Reason I ask is that i ordered a replacement cylinder head from clearwater cylinder heads, but im not sure how to ID the new head as the correct 2.3 head. When I ordered the head, they "built" it according to the casting number stamped on my current head.

Are the cams the same between the 2.3 and 2.4 turbo? (Not including the vvt)

Is the .1L difference in the head or the block?

2001 V70 2.3 T5

Thanks!

Thanks, I just pushed the manifold/turbo to the rear. When taking the manifold nuts off, most of the studs came with it, but that's not too big of a deal to me. I also did the 4 nuts on the manifold to turbo pipe, which may or may not be necessary, certainly gives a little more clearance.

All was going well, then came to a screatching halt when the last cylinder head bolt rounded out. I've tried everything, went to Sears and bought stripped bolt removers, tried hammering a 13mm 12-pt socket onto the head and just keeps getting worse.

My only option now is to find some serious metal drill bits and start drilling CAREFULLY, unless anyone can think of something else to try first? I know these bolts are under some serious torque so I snugged the other bolts back down to relieve the pressure off the one that stripped.

So much for sliding the head forward off the block and away from the manifold
