Mini09
09 C70 convertible just bought at a local auction and top doesn't work. Previous owners records in the car indicate that the chime wouldn't stop and they declined the repair so a tech "unplugged" the top. Any idea where I should look for the unplugged connection? Thanks! swampcollie
There is a relay module somewhere under the dash - service tech removed mine so I dont know where it came from - that contains the chime. Chances are the top wasn't working before and this is why it is unplugged. Chances are this wont be a simple fix. Im still researching mine. Probably a microswitch somewhere gone bad, but requires Volvo scanner to test and to reset the body control module. Anyone know if the DICE/VIDA can access the top? Ihatespeedbumps
Your title says an 04 C70 but you mention an 09 in your post, which one is it? Very different animals between those years...
LloydDobler
To answer the original question, the top module is in the trunk on the passenger side, behind the side carpet. Kind of a pain to get to as you have to remove almost all the trunk trim to get the side carpet out. But I agree with the other guys that the chime relay was probably unplugged under the dash, and it's probably just a microswitch gone bad that is making the top not operate. Also check fuses of course.
