1999 V70 Xc Driveshaft Question

Long story short,
old driveshaft died, we got a new one.
Verified with Volvo that the part number on the driveshaft matches the VIN
Called FCP to get NEW bolts and they advised us that there are 8 different bolts for this driveshaft ranging from 42mm long to 62mm long....
VIN# YV1LZ56D7X2582813

'99 V70XC

Shaft # 9183941
Need the bolts for the ends and center support.
Collar on the driveshaft ends measures ~25mm (depth).
If anyone could look this up via VADIS or VIDA, or can shed any light on it, I would be eternally grateful!
Thanks

Different lenght bolts are used to balance the shaft in order to avoid vibration(s). As far as I'm aware factory installed driveshafts have combinations of "all" bolts in some random layout. Not all different lenght bolts are necessarily used. There should be a particular bolt that is intended to be used for replacement driveshafts.

Center support bolts are just used to bolt the driveshaft to the car. No special care is needed when choosing a bolt.

Don't overtorque the bolts and follow the pattern.

Cool. I figured that may have been the reason for all the different lengths. Issue is I don't know which bolts or how many go where. Hopefully someone with a diagram or something can come thru.

Thanks for the advice though. Confirms mine and my fathers suspicions!

I would be curious if the different length bolts are organized differently per vehicle based on how much balancing it needs on a one off basis.

Hopefully you can find out and let me know in case I buy an XC and need the same help!

My '00 driveshaft CV allen bolts weren't different lenghts, they were all the same. I just ordered new Grade 12 allen bolts from Fastenall.

The 98 Coral that I put the driveshaft back in all the bolts were the same as well.

replaced my 99 with one from Colorado drive shaft and used the bolts from the old shaft. 2 years out no issues. Was removed and installed again in that time.

I don't have the old bolts, not to mention I would have gotten new ones anyways. This is an OEM driveshaft.

Anyone with VADIS or VIDA could help me out with a diagram for the bolt pattern/which ones to use?

I've always just swapped the old bolts to the new driveshaft, but since you don't have them here are your choices for bolts....

So yea... Since I don't have em would you go with the M8X40?

Or would I have issues with this down the road?

Also thanks a million for the diagram!
