Mattbchillin
This is the 3rd time in the last 4 months i have had this problem. I get in to start the car after work nothing, no crank no nothing, all hte idiot lights, heater, radio ,lights work fine. Try to start it about 10 times (4-5 minutes) eventually starts right up. What would cause the car to not start but no crank no nothing. Its so intermediate that i cant even get a feel for when it will happen.
Flukey
Ya might have a starter or the starter solenoid failing. The next time it happens, try reaching the starter with an extension and putting the business end of it against the starter. Then hit the other end of the extension with a hammer. Don't hit is so hard as to dent the thing up though. If it starts right up after that, consider fixing or replacing it.
BlackT5
Does the IMMO allow the starter to engage? Mine is manual swapped so it will crank, not sure about a stock ME7 P80?
jschaefer7406
Immobilizer should allow the engine to crank, but disable fuel I believe. Maybe corrosion on the small signal wire to the starter solenoid? Have seen it a lot on P2 cars, causes an intermittent no-crank as described... Hope this helps, Joe
andyb5
Sounds like the starter solenoid trigger wire. Same thing happened to my car a couple times. The spade terminal that secures the trigger wire sometimes works itself loose due to age and vibration.
