Speedy! Posted January 9, 2015 Report Share Posted January 9, 2015 I believe its a visual inspection, the sniffer test and no OBD2 hookup and no smog dyno. I Smogged my '96 (a week before I pulled my old motor ) and it was just that. I asked the smog dude about it and he said it was the "new rules". MY2000 vehicles and newer is a visual and OBD2 scan, no more dyno or sniffer. AWD cars were always exempt from the smog dyno in California.
