TIZIO AKA 1 HND MEC
So we got cool wind and huge dropping temps and I got my car stuck on the supermarket parking lot. I can insert the key, there is no room to turn left or right the key to unlock the car!!! I do not have a remote to avoid such a strange situation. Any suggestions? Volvo5.0
I had a similar situation after washing the car inside and then parking it outside. I used a butane lighter to heat the key. It took a couple of times but it did finally work. Take it slow so you don't melt the plastic on the key. Or use this...
Piston Slapper
Yeah, get the key good and hot with a lighter, shove it in and let it sit in there for a bit, should thaw out the lock.
andyb5
Buy a couple of these at Wal-Mart: Put into the frozen lock, spray and go. The de-icer will melt any ice inside the lock, and the lubricant in that spray helps keep the lock from freezing in the future.
