gilber33
Have a clunk coming from the rear passenger side suspension. It's prominent on rolling bumps or where there are multiple cracks in a row. Everything in the trunk is secure, including the jack and tool kit. I have installed new sway bar links, shock, spring seat and shock retainer. From a parts standpoint the only things not new back there are bushings. Car has 111k miles. Heat shields are all tight as well. Visual inspections of bushings do not show any obvious worn out bushings. Amy thoughts of what else I should look for? Should also note that I have tried recreating the noise at home and I cannot. I have a trailer hitch and I have bounced the back end of the car quite a bit and there is no noise. Ihatespeedbumps
Did you calibrate the SUM after shock replacement?
gilber33
Did you calibrate the SUM after shock replacement? I did not. I thought of that right after I posted this.
Ihatespeedbumps
Calibrate SUM and DSTC (correctly) and I bet your noise will go away It will probably ride better too!

Does it calibrate SUM and DSTC under the same process? I've done SUM.
Ihatespeedbumps
Does it calibrate SUM and DSTC under the same process? I've done SUM. No you have to go into the BCM to calibrate DSTC.
gilber33
Did the SUM. Although Vida says the car needs to be at room temp, but I'm in Wisconsin, so it's obviously not at room temp since the car is in the garage and not the dining room. Hopefully the calibration still did what it needs to do.
gilber33
Sound seems to be reduced. But not gone. I'm assuming it has to do with the calibration needing to occur at room temp and the car was at about 10°. I'm gonna pull the fuse on the way home. If it's gone, then I just have to suck it up until it's warmer out.
Timbo Slice
Isn't your garage heated? Crank that bitch up if it's still bothersome.
gilber33
It's one thing to heat the garage air up to 50 degrees, but to heat up a giant chunk of metal that has been sitting outside all day? I don't think it's going to happen.

gilber33
Yup. Sound is gone with the fuse pulled. So i'm assuming it was too cold to do a complete calibration of the shock.
