Commander Riker
Well, I'm not using the head unit to power any speakers. I picked up an Alpine UTE-52B... and it has 6 RCA outs. 4 will go to an MB Quart under the passenger seat... 600w. And 2 will go to the infinity bass link in the rear. I have yet to confirm... but I suspect the returns for some of the stock tweeters are located in the "A" connector at the amp. I will report back with the color coding of wiring and how I end up doing it. I'm running 4 Ohm MQ quart component speakers and tweeters, using the provided cross over. Commander Riker
Update: So, my plans have gone a bit awry once I have learned both: how the stock wiring works, and just how little the space beneath our seats actually is. Basically there is no way I'm fitting my aftermarket amp under either the drive or passenger seat, as I keep them fully reclined and low as possible. The seat motor would contact the amp for sure. Also, I'm running new wiring for the tweeters to get them on their own channels from the crossover. Right now the plan is to run the amp in the back right corner of the wagon, and send 4 channels to 4 crossovers under the passenger seat.
VolvoNor
That actually sounds logical to do, I had been wondering if you could fit a decent sized amp under the seats, but your plan is better. I might have run new wires to all the speakers though, the original wiring is quite thin.
BEJinFBK
Running new wire sounds good in theory, but have you looked into getting throughthe door connectors in these cars? Also keep in mind that all of the factoryspeakers are essentially mid-bass,mids and highs. None of them really needa huge capacity wire gauge to be effective.Save the big wire for your subs. Piston Slapper
Wonder if you could get two relatively flat two channel amps and put one under each front seat...

andyb5
Not sure if you guys have looked, but the newest class of car amps are quite compact. The Rockford Fosgate PBR-series amps are only 6.75" x 4.25" x 1.5" - that's a tiny amp, you could literally hide it anywhere in the car you wanted!Kenwood, Alpine, Pioneer, Kicker, they all have amps that are roughly the same size.
