ErikS Posted June 3, 2015 Report Share Posted June 3, 2015 So I noticed a leak on our lower filter casing a few weeks ago, bottom case of the main filter has a hairline crack. Our pool company (wife's relatives) installed a new 2.2 HP motor when the other one failed about 5 months ago.They said they need to replace the whole filter system due to the crack (Sta-rite S7M400) and I got the invoice today, $1280 + 150 installation.First off I search and the system is $900 shipped, the lower case is only $510 just replacing that. So I do more research and the motor they used for replacement is WAY to big for the system (video below) I probably only need a 1.0 - 1.5 HP pump. The one in the video is the same system, and he says the pump at 1.5 HP is too much pressure and caused the crack. What to do? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
