Also only look for XC70 after 04, I'm assuming you want to stay with the P2 platform and not the P3 that the XC70 went to after 07. After 06, XC90 went away from the T6 and 5 cylinders and went to the 3.2 6 cylinder engines. They both get AWD issues, stripped collars on angle gears, DEM and DEM pump issues. Driveshafts. Front end suspension, broken springs, shocks, spring seats, control arm bushings. PCV system if not maintained. A majority of the problems that arise are from lack of maintenance, which causes problems to pile up in a short period of time, if neglected. Dick Dastardly Posted June 24, 2015 Report Share Posted June 24, 2015 I (ex-wife really) had an 05 XC90 5cyl/awd fully loaded.Bought it from a dealer with 54k on it and it had 154k when I sold it. did brake pads, 2 sets of tires, 1 ball joint, and cam seals.
