Lighting & Lense Terminology

A few questions as I try to replace the driver-side taillight on my 2007 Volvo S60 AWD:

(1) Can you tell me the difference between the tail light assembly, the tail light lens, and the tail light cover? I've got a crack in the driver-side, bottom portion of the external part of the plastic red/white piece that looks like this: http://store.voluparts.com/05-09-s60-tail-light/ and I am not sure what word to search for when I am looking for a replacement for this outside piece (the bulbs, bulb sockets, and wires are fine). I think it's called the lens?

(2) If I buy a new part for this (lens?), do I need to install any other pieces onto the plastic or do the bulbs just pop right into it? In other words, I see references to "circuit boards" but it is my understanding that I would not need to install that on the new lens - all I need to do is unclip the bulbs and their holders from the lens, swap out the lens, then complete the reverse.

(3) How much does one of these run me typically?

The lense is not a separate part on that model. You need to replace the entire assembly, which will likely come with new sockets and bulbs in it. I'd suggest you look it up on the Tasca parts website, I think they're the cheapest reliable OEM part source right now.

This should be the one: http://www.tascaparts.com/volvo/s60/30655367/
