I have never seen the flag as anything but a point of Southern pride. Never associated it with slavery as there were slaves in the north also under a different flag. The civil war wasn't purely about slavery. It is truly unfortunate that a small group of truly ignorant people have been able to ruin the opinions of the majority concerning said flag.
