1998 V70 T5M with a 2000 R motor, 16T and an ARD green tune.  Car runs great, no CELs, no apparent issues.   I went through EVERY vacuum line, hose, connection and clamp on the car yesterday and found nothing obviously wrong or loose and the turbo spins freely without any rubbing or obvious defects.  When the car is hot, however, it feels like it is down about 100 hp.  I used to get pushed back in the seat as the turbo kicked in and the wheels spun, but the turbo does not feel as powerful or as brutal as it used to.  I don't know if the car is slower, but it feels less sudden.  The only change I have made is adding a strut bar (which actually made a much bigger difference than I thought it would).  Could this simply be caused by the fact that it has been in the 90's here and the intercooler can't keep up?  It feels good in the mornings, before it gets too hot.

I swapped in a different TCV with no change, but that is all I have tried thus far.

As it gets hotter and hotter I've noticed my car getting slower and slower (even with a recent 19t swap). This is my first summer with the car so I can't say for sure, but it's my understanding that these cars can run log cheetahs in the winter, and loose a lot of that as it warms up.  How many miles on the intercooler/motor?

im getting ready to instal a water/meth injection kit to help with this.  Down the road I'm gonna grab a do88 intercooler and hopefully that sluggishness from the heat will be gone

It is my first summer with this car as well.  It has plenty of miles, 192k or so.  The intercooler as well.  My boost gauge reads right at 17 psi which is what my ECU is tuned at, it just doesn't seem to pack the same punch once the outside air temp is over 90.  I suppose that is to be expected as the intercooler can't keep up.

I have looked into the do88 drop in intercooler as well and may do it when I can.

Heat makes a major difference on these cars.. Bigger IC helps so much. Water meth will pick up some slack too.. But neither are replacement for a wonderful 60F degree evening

Ha, yes, it is just a baby.  I have only put about 8,000 miles on it myself.  I am hoping that soon I will have replaced all the broken stuff and can concentrate on actually driving it.  Of course last night had other plans on that front.  I have and IPD rear sway bar I want to install but when I went to loosen the transverse arm mounting bolts (the bigger 21mm nuts) one of them simply twisted off.  This was with a 3/8" ratchet, so it isn't as though I put much pressure on it.  So now I need to find those bolts before I can swap out the sway bar.  I may have my local indy do it though because being that far under the car while it is on jack stands freaks me out a bit.

Were in the same boat.  Yesterday made 1 year I've had the car, and I've been replacing/upgrading everything. The sway bars were the only thing I didn't do myself.  I took it to an Indy shop, and they said it took 3 guys to get it on while it was on a lift, so I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself, although I'm sure it can be done.

Keep us updated with anything new, and feel free to pm me with any questions (although I'm still learning myself). Good luck with everything!

Well Indy Shop #1 declined to do the work as it would not be to factory specs, which I thought was odd.  Nothing on the car is really to factory specs.  There is another guy I am going to try, but he is pricey.  At this point I am more worried about the broken bolt than the sway bar.

I really enjoy this car and it runs well.  This past weekend I had to remove the really nice set of Volans I had on it because I could no longer take the rough ride with the lower profile tires.  I put on a set of Meteors and the difference is night and day.  Looks like I might have a set of Volans for sale at some point.  It's a shame as I LOVE the way they look, but I can't take the ride quality with a lowered suspension.

It's more of general lethargy.  It's through the whole RPM band.  It used to be that the engine would hit X Rpm's and the turbo would spool up the car would get on it.  Now there is no sudden burst of power.  It climbs through the rev range with no feeling of urgency.  The boost gauge (and Torque app) indicate it is hitting and holding the targeted boost of 17 psi. The power delivery simply feels less abrupt.  2nd gear used to push me back in my seat, and it no longer does.  EXCEPT when the outside air temperature is cooler - so in the mornings it still feels good.  Not great, but good.

There are no codes, nothing pending and the idle is rock steady.  I went through every single vacuum hose and intercooler hose this weekend.  I removed the intake and felt the turbo for binding and I took off the downpipe and did the same.  It feels fine and spins very easily.  Power delivery is smooth and linear, it just feels down on power.

I should probably drop the stock ECU in and see what happens.  Maybe it is the ECU mapping for the ARD green tune that doesn't like the heat?

The O2 sensors both have only about 6,000 miles on them and they are the correct Bosch units for the car.  They are not universal sensors.
