RussB
The engine is a 2.4L out of a 2000 V70 R,...Ignition is stock and I was told the plugs, rotor, cap and wires were replaced at about 175k. Don't the '99 and '00 have coil packs instead of the wires/cap/rotor, along with an ETM ??
Seaway
Yes, but it is running the ecu and auxiliaries from a 1998. Basically the VVT is disabled, the distributor is added and it is then run as a 1998. It still has a throttle cable like a 1998. I may have now told you more than I know, but the engine swap is not uncommon. The car is running well at this point. Power is back where it should be. I am going to replace the plug wires at some point very soon as I still have an occasional hiccup at idle. New plugs with a smaller gap seems to have cleared up the problems.
