It defers buy county for emissions and inspections. My county has neither.
Registration you now pay a percentage of the vehicles value. Just walk in with the (old) title, pay and they mail you the new title in a couple of weeks. My last Volvo was like $200 to register (98 S70 GLT) then its $20 a year after that for the sticker.

I know in Philadelphia I can get around stuff and have connections to get things done.

Same thing here, just got to find "the guy."  The few people I know around Atlanta just have their cars registered in other counties. Once you're out of the burbs its a lot nicer.

Vehicle emissions testing is required annually in the 13 metro Atlanta counties.
All 1991 – 2013 model year vehicles subject to emissions inspections will receive a three-part inspection:
An OBD test to check a vehicle’s emissions control performance history;
A fuel cap inspection to check for adequate seal; and
A visual inspection of the catalytic converter to check for tampering or removal.

I did that you butt head. Lol,  I needed to know the inns and out. I know in Philadelphia I can get around stuff and have connections to get things done.

Hahahaha, like I said: too easy!

I know someone in the car business near Alpharetta, shoot me a text when you get closer to registering the fleet and I'll send you the guy's contact info. His name is also Steve.

Even in counties that test,  most state emissions testing sites are run by yoyos.  The guy that did mine on the T5 had more questions about my suspension then my exhaust.  And all GA emissions are about CEL,  have at least something resembling a CAT,  and your gas cap seals.

One time Ad Valorem fee.  And like fivex84 said annually you just pay the tag fee.  $25.

And best yards are Voluparts and Auto Disassembly Volvo.  Volvo of Marietta blows for parts,  always had good luck at North Point Volvo in Alpharetta.  Cory in parts is a guy I went to HS with.  He usually hooks me up without asking.  2 for 1 on gaskets and stuff like that ;-)
