Boost Addicted
Replaced the engine harness in a 95 850T5R. Have 2 plugs left and the car won't start. One I believe goes to the tcv, but I have an aftermarket one and no longer have the stock tcv. Anyone have an idea what the two plugs plug into? Thanks, Pete P.S. anyone in Denver who would let me look at there wiring harness, I would greatly appreciate it.
Brad850
Check all of these..ptc on the intake pipe, throttle position sensor on the throttle body, bcs/tvc, corner turn signals, cam sensor and crank sensor (your no start issue), Idle air control valve, cruise control pump under the battery tray...Pretty sure that covers every plug in that area. I can check for you tomorrow after work if someone else doesn't chime in.
Tightmopedman9
I'm in Denver, I've been through the wiring diagrams and re-done more harnesses than I'd care to remember. The first picture is the crank sensor, the second is the TCV.

Boost Addicted
The crank sensor was already hooked up to another plug, I switched it to the one Tightmopedman9 suggested. I hooked up the TCV as Tightmopedman9suggested. I still have an extra plug. I'm almost certain everything B850 suggested I check is hooked up. Still won't start, still have an extra plug. see new picture...
Tightmopedman9
When you post unknown connectors you need to get the color of the wires in the picture. That connector is the cam position sensor.
Boost Addicted
Copy,See new pic below.First is what I have the Cam Sensor hooked up to.Second is my mystery wire.
Tightmopedman9
First is correct, cam sensor. For the second one, given its position and the metal clip on it you would think its the crank sensor. However, from the picture it looks like it is black/brown and green/yellow, which is not a connector I'm familiar with. http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/downloads/1997_850_wiring_diagram.pdfIf you look at a wiring diagram you'll be able to figure it out all on your own. Also, if you run an XRAM dump, which is a special datalogging mode available by flashing a custom tune as found in the m44.wikia.com, you can look at the error flags and it will tell you exactly the reason why the car isn't starting. erikv11
Is it another 95 harness, which would have a black EGR plug in right about that location? In which case the plug would not not explain the no-start.Are the plug wires in the right order? lol
Saleen9091
EGR temp sensor by the diagram (page 12) has green/yellow and brown/black wires. That second connector does look like the EGR temp sensor connector. Would not explain no-start condition. Here is a link to the 1995 diagrams which are different because of things like EGR and SAShttps://www.volvoclub.org.uk/tech/service/850/SystemWiringDiagrams.pdf Actually, almost every engine harness connector is listed on page 12 of above link
erikv11
Yeah the mystery plug is for the EGR and irrelevant, seriously it is likely firing order or some other pesky little thing.
