901 radio equalizer not working

Just put a ac 901 in my 850 I have the Dolby audio box with it and the amp t mounts under the passengers seat but when I go to access the equalizer by pushing 2 and the on button it just cuts the radio on..... All other buttons 1 3 4 5 6 functions work in there desired function when pressing them with the on button.  Equalizer bad for some reason? CD player does not work it makes no sound when trying to eject the cd and it has the magazine

I've researched the heck out of it and haven't found anything online about a equalizer not functioning, any advice would be helpful thank you

I've had it where it takes a couple tries to get the equalizer screen to come up by pressing "2" and the power button just because I didn't syncronize it well but I've owned quite a few 901s and have never had a real problem getting the screen to come up.

With the radio off you are pressing and holding "2" and then pressing the power button? The only thing I can think of is that you are slightly spinning the volume when you are pressing the power which would cause the radio to come on normally.

As for the CD changer...sounds like you have a broken CD changer mechanism. In theory, you used to be able to have these repaired at authorized Alpine OE repair shops but the last time I checked the one Volvo used to list had ceased to exist.

It the guy I bought the radio from says everything worked when he had it in his car, I've tried it over and over and the screen won't come up for nothing.  I don't know if a wire came loose on the inside while shipping or something that would cause it not to work and maybe cause the CD player not to work also.... It's really weird that the equalizer won't pop up cause I haven't seen anything on the web about it not working.  When the CD player is broken in these units do they atleast make a noise?
