gottago
I'm believe this is a common issue on the tailgates of this series. Where the harness feeds through left rear hinge. It gets chopped and eatten by hinge assembly., when opening and closing. Resulting in a multitude of electrical issues. Found problem 3/4 years ago, repaired, soldered, shrink tubed, taped and repositioned harness to what I thought was a safe spot. Well electrical woes returned, I went right to harness, and once again it is cut. Is there a fix. or what are others doing to prevent this from reoccurring. Thanks in advance
Fran9690
We just replace them. The harness gets stressed from all the years of moving from opening and closing, so we do not repair them when they break the wires, it gets a new one. No real fix to prevent it from happening again, just a poor location/design/durability.
