orangedog Posted November 24, 2015 Report Share Posted November 24, 2015 Hey All: My 2007 S80 developed a problem this morning with the BLIS. Upon start up the indicator light for the driver side flashes rapidly and I get a BLIS service required message on the dash. For the past 6 months that I've had the car, I will every now and then get a message about reduced functionality, usually when it rains, but this one today was new. Turning the BLIS off did not stop the orange/red light on the driver door from flashing. Ended up leaving the S80 at home and took the wife's car this morning so I haven't had time to tinker and poke at it. Figured I would see if anyone here had a similar problem before I go poking at it with a screw driver. Is there a part in the mirror for the BLIS that might need replacing? Fran9690 Posted November 27, 2015 Report Share Posted November 27, 2015 If it has the copper ring for the heater grid on the blis camera in the mirror, check to make sure it hasn't shifted and is covering the camera itself. That is a very common issue. Clean the camera itself with a q-tip and glass cleaner as a dirty camera can cause false warnings. Also check to see if the heater grid is actually working. Aside from that, you really need VIDA to see what codes are setting. I have fixed many with software upgrades in the CEM, DDM and PDM as long as they are not posting any codes related to BLIS.
