1999MyC70
I am thinking of getting VIDA/DICE and have a couple of questions. First from what I have read it has a bunch of capabilities, can you program a key or fob with it? All the adds I see is that you need Windows 7 Pro only, will it work with later windows? Thanks! wizzard_al
You have to take the car to the dealer to get keys programmed. They connect to Volvo's server, and that tells the CEM to accept the keys. With the clone DiCE units, you cannot connect to volvo. they throw those units off their system. Supposedly, VIDA works with Win 8, but it takes some work. Look at Swedespeed in the OBD section, there are instructions there.
apeacock
The biggest help I found was to change the ram requirements in the install file down to 2Gb. Even with 4GB in a laptop it wouldn't install. I'm using 2012D and it seems to work just fine. I don't believe you can program keys but it says how many are programmed for the car in case you needed that knowledge. I wish you could do a little more with the p80 cars, both overall and without the use of the software hub at Volvo. A lot of functions are locked without the pay to reprogram function. I used to have it on win 7 64 bit pro, now I have a new windows 10 laptop that I run VMware box and just run the old install virtually with that and the dice unit.
