I did the valve stem seals a few years ago using Victor Reinz parts and it looks like most of them were allowing an egregious amount of oil to pass into the cylinders. Looking for a non-turbo head with less mileage (her car has 242K) so I can get this thing back on the road. Are they a direct swap as long as I used NA cams? (Compression ratio and valves come to mind?) EDIT: Ended up ordering a reman head from Clearwater this morning. MadeInJapan Posted March 2, 2016 Report Share Posted March 2, 2016 Make sure to use the cam holding tool to install the head- a guy I trusted to do this job for my T5 screwed up and warped the Clearwater head by trying to do the job without the right tools. I then had to use my original head and install new valves and guides before I was on the road again...several hundred, and I mean several hundred dollars wasted on that job. Too many Volvos in the family to not have them. :-) The job went great and the car doesn't burn oil anymore. It runs so well at 243k we're having trouble justifying selling it now.
