Brad850
With no plans of tracking or going lower than eibachs, will I really notice a difference between the two? I need to purchase new heim joints/boots, and removing the old joints from 05 isn't proving to be easy. I can't seem to find much info on the ipd hd endlinks. Anyone running them? fenwick253
I've been running the IPD HD endlinks on my 00V70R (with IPD blue springs) for about a year now. Prior to running the IPDs, I had QBM style endlinks for the about 5 years (bought components from https://www.midwestcontrol.com/). I used boots that provided full coverage of the rod end and I could never have boots last longer than a year without finding a tear, leading to squeaky rod ends. I have been fed up with replacing boots and dealing with squeaky rod ends, so I decided to give the IPDs a try. I was looking for a design that would be durable in the wet (I live in Seattle). The boots are thick and they are secured to the rod end with snap-rings. They are more than stiff enough for street use and the boots seem to be very durable, thus far. For $60/pair, I would definitely recommend the IPD HDs, given you would spend at least that much in rod ends/boots+your time. Hope this helps, Scott
Brad850
Thanks Scott. I'm definitely leaning towards the Ipds. What would stop me is if I hear stories of people bending them or making noise too soon.
mojojo
The first set of IPD end links I installed lasted about eleven months (or just under a year), so they were warrantied for me. The second set lasted a bit over a year before they were clicking. This last go round, I just went with the Meyle HD option. After about six months, they've been good. DScottM
Had IPD's for like 2+ years on Koni Yellows/IPD Blue springs. No issues to date...
Burn-E
I went with Meyle HD when it was time to order because IPD doesn't keep theirs in stock but instead builds on demand and according to the site it takes up to 90 days to deliver. ConorV70R
I've been running the IPD ones on my 00VR for 2 years now with no problems at all and I live in Michigan where the roads are especially crappy
dougy
had QBM, IPD , Volvo OEM and other aftermarket...OEM win longevity wise every-time hands down.
Brad850
OEM might win longevity wise but I've heard stories of people bending them with just lowering springs and ipd sways. Dougy I was going to pm you but I can't for some reason. I've had a brand new set of those mazda endlinks you recommended for a few years now. I didn't realize at the time I would have had to drill my sway bar to make them fit. They've been sitting in my closet ever since. If you're interested I'll let them go for cheap. dougy
i emptied my inbox now...mazdas with exception they are thinner and cheaper looking lasted as long as qbm ones...here is what i use now. 2004 and up s60r/v70r's front end links as long as you dont have stock sway bay so it does not have the rubber preload on it, cause they are lill longer if i recollect..lill thinker as well. adamdrives
i've never noticed any considerable difference in performance in terms of handling, etc between knock offs and OEM. I would approach it more in terms of what will last longest.
NEU
I've run IPD and homemade QBM style endlinks, from Midwest Control. IPD last longer preform better than stock (flex less), and cost less IIRC. But QBM are much stiffer and adjustable. My vR is lowered with IPD sways I made them an inch longer so the swaybar sits not on an angle like with stock endlink lenght. The down side was the hardware was hard to keep tight and then froze up making it hard to remove when I swapped out struts even with boots. With them longer they made the front bar work better. I've currently running IPD again (got them on sale). They are very good and but if you want the best performance out of you endlinks, make some QBM...
