woodstock
I have a 2003 S60, and occasionally the power windows will not function, and there appears to be no power to the switch. When this happens the side view mirror adjusters don't work either, and the L/R indicator lights are not on. I have pulled the switch and the plugs are in good. I know the easy answer is there is a short somewhere, but I am trying to learn if anyone knows of another issue that can cause this? Is there a relay? some common issue? The strange thing is I have tried turning the car off and on, and still they dont work. Then let the car sit overnight and they operate as normal. They do usually work, but I am concerned I am going to put the window at some point and not be able to put it back. This would be bad if I am traveling..... Ihatespeedbumps
Sounds like DDM (drivers door module) may be failing, but I would what to see what codes were stored in the vehicle first. Do you have access to VIDA?
woodstock
Thanks Humpty. That is certainly a possibility. I didn't know such a part existed on the S60, but that could be the issue. I unfortunately do not have VIDA access. Where is the DDM on my car? I could replace it with a used one as a test tool if its easy enough to replace, and get to.....
Brad850
My s70 does this as well. The rear pass window sometimes simply doesn't work.

S70 would be the master window switch or the rear pass window switch. both need to have juice to work. master window switches often fail, so it is most likely that. OP check codes as speedbumps said and go from there.
thedrill
Try wiggling your key in the ignition switch when it does this, my friends V70 has the same issue.
