JA VOLVO
Not sure if this is really an audio issue, but this is the only symptom I have of it. When I turn on my headlights and/or fogs (all are HID, 35watt), the lights on the radio get very dim and then come back. Also, I have a GROM hooked up to the main power line as they instructed and it will reset from, I am guessing, the drop in voltage. I am not too sure what to check. My first guesses are alternator to make sure it is putting out enough normal juice. Other than that, is there anything I should check or is there a way to maintain good voltage to the radio? I know I could add a capacitor, but that seems like a work-around for what is actually going on. I have no other power related issues I am aware of. aharres
Check if there is a large voltage drop between the battery and the main fuse box. There is a 4-wire cable that tends to corrode or something and will cause a huge voltage drop. For fun, try taking off the cover of the main fuse box and feel how hot the cable gets at the connector.
