T5power
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe all volvos since at least 1996 have been keyless entry. I would recommend getting a new remote if it comes to that. FYI this is the wrong section for stuff like this. you'll want to (or mods can move to) the FWD & AWD 1999-2010 forum. http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/forum/34-fwdawd-1999-2010/
Ihatespeedbumps
All 99+ vehicle were equipped with Keyless entry. Your best and easiest bet would be to purchase a remove from a dealer and have them program it. Generally speaking aftermarket alarms/remote start etc. Don't work well because there are few that understand how install them properly. Member Ghost Shadow would tell me I'm always wrong on this subject

BEJinFBK
Honestly, the best thing that you can do is stay factory. There are a number of things that connect through the keyless module of your car, especially the convertibles. Get it fixed and keep the factory remote. You might look around for a different shop, though...
