Platinum850Wagon
So I decided to get a SC-901 for my Platinum Wagon. My sc-816 plays fine, but I wanted to try out those different EQ settings. I put in the radio, give it a code and it comes to life, insofar as it lights up, goes to different stations and shows me what's playing. Problem is.....there is no sound. Put the stock radio back in and viola....sound and fury. I know there is an amp in the car. I've taken out the entire dash before doing the evap replacement, so I've seen it. Maybe something is wrong with the amp? Maybe I didn't hook it back up properly when it was out? Stock radio has a built in amp so it would play either way. I'm sure many P80 guys have done this mod. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
BEJinFBK
The easiest way to tell if you've got an OEM amp working with the HU is to unplug the round 6 pin DIN "AMP" connector when you have the 816 plugged in. If the music keeps playing, you aren't running through an amp.
TIZIO AKA 1 HND MEC
Sc 900 family needs a surround box connected to it in order to emit any sound to my knowledge, seats right under the radio.

Not the case - The Dolby module is optional. An SC-900/901 will work fine without it as long as it's connected to an external amp.
