German850R Posted May 14, 2016 Report Share Posted May 14, 2016 Hi, thought I share my experience with Maarten's Motronic 4.4 datalogger that I received yesterday. It is a neat standalone unit with OBD cable and SD card slot. I am using a 2GB SD card at the moment and it works perfectly. You just plug it into the OBD port and as soon as you start the car (if logging is enabled), it plays a startup melody and immediately starts logging whatever the ECU is sending. No configuration required, nothing. Back at home you pull the SD card out and open the "XDL"-file in tunerpro just like any other log file. I have to say, it works great! Much more convenient than connecting a laptop just for data logging. You even have a button which you can press to mark interesting events. Very convenient piece indeed.
