Vibrating 850R

I've checked A Arm bushings, ball joint  and tie rods for looseness and its all pretty snug. I also checked for stuck calipers.

I was thinking maybe when I hit the brakes the motor was shifting slightly causing the pull to the left...it always goes left.

Oh, also Damn thats the original Volvo motor mount. OEM stuff is expensive but it sure does last longer. Thats 19 years it lasted!!!  I know because I've had this car since it was 2 years old.

Yep, that one can cause some slightly unintuitive symptoms. You're right that as you hit the brakes, the motor shifts but in an awkward way. And as you've noticed, the original equipment can sometimes be worth paying for. It is often quality.

That's called the passenger side mount by most around here, but I think it's also sometimes confusingly listed as the 'front' mount because they mean front of the engine, not front of the car.

I think 850's would of had a bigger following if they were RWD cars like the BMW's but they do well in snow and stuff.  It was a woman that designed this car, I don't think most women care about drifting and rear wheel burnouts..It's weird because I think the 850R was designed in mind to compete with the M3 which is RWD.

I really doubt that the design decision to use FWD was made by a single person, and especially not based on what their personal preferences might be.

Jan is pronounced "Yahn" in that part of the world, he would have been called "John" here in the US.

I agree totally with your point. What I was getting at is even though the 850 was the best selling model ever it may have done even better as a rear wheel drive vehicle.

I doubt it. Amazon, 140, 240, 740, 760, 780, 940, 960, and many more are all RWD.

Mount should cure the vibration issue, pulling left while "braking" could be a few things.. tires, ball joints or control arm bushings.

So I installed the motor mount and my 850R doesn't pull to the left when I hit the brakes now..That was really annoying and I would not of known it was the motor mount if the vibrations were not there. So anyone with an older 850 I'd take a look at the mount located behind your rf wheel at some point. Don't wait until it causes driveability issues like I did. With a broken mount the motor will sit lower than it should. The mount also has a wear indicatior built into it.
