burnout8488 Posted October 11, 2016 Report Share Posted October 11, 2016 We no longer own this car and I just realized these were in my girlfriend's shed. 4 OE Volvo Wheels 4 Volvo Wheel Covers 4 General Altimax Arctic 185/65-15 (Perfect replacement for 195/60-15 and 205/50-16) The snows have 3-4(?) seasons on them and are in amazing shape, tons of tread left. Her 850 would climb up steep grades in 6" of snow with no problem, I attribute this to how narrow the tires were. Rumor has it the General Altimax Arctic is a rebraded Gislaved Nordfrost tire (Swedish) and I believe it, these grab like there's nothing on the ground at all and brake without even engaging ABS. One of the wheels is only a few years old, I bought it new from Tasca after hitting a pothole. The set was balanced before the 2015 snow season - it should be fine, or balance them for peace of mind. (There aren't that many miles on them as I put them on late in the year and remove as soon as the snow stops) I would like $230 firm for the set. andyb5 Posted October 11, 2016 Report Share Posted October 11, 2016 I can confirm that General Altimax Arctics are the same tire as the Gislaved Nordfrost 3. Both General and Gislaved are owned by Continental Tire. When Gislaved introduced the Nordfrost 5, General was given the molds and rubber compound for the Nordfrost 3 to rebrand as the Altimax Arctic.
