lapri94
Hello, I have a S80, 2.5T, 2007, 180,000km. I am desperately looking for a solution to my coolant system, but each 100km a component break. It all begins with a leak of water, we kept adding water until finding that it is the water pump. We replaced it. Then we found water and oil mixed in the coolant system, we thought that it is the cylinder head gasket, changed it but then we noticed that it is the gearbox transmission oil coolers which was faulty and changed it. After cleaning the circuit, the water is now clean (no trace of oil). Then after some km, i stopped the car and water leaked from the watertank. We changed it and the problem was solved. Finally, a waterhose exploded, we changed all the waterhose which were quite old. But, yesterday a brand new waterhose exploded. I conclude that there is too much pressure in the coolant circuit. I have changed all the waterhose, the waterpump, the thermostat, the watertank and the cap. (There is no volvo dealer in my country) I am thinking of a cracked cylinder head, but would like to take your opinion before changing it as it is very expensive. Does anyone experienced similar experience? Thank in advance.
hootie6828
Have you flow tested the radiator? Low flow or little cooling will cause overheating and excess pressure.
