savannahvolvoguy
To be honest I'm really not sure. It's so subjective. It seems pretty smooth. I'm mostly just glad it's done so I don't have to worry about doing it later. Now time to do the s60 and then finally the 95 Honda del sol. And once I get the diff fluids changed out on the XC then I'll be up to date on maintenance. Thanks again.

Better immediately. Also, the 05 has a tranny dipstick:) I also bought the NGK platinum plugs for less than half of OEM and they work great. Did you have service history of the flush being done before at all? Getting ready to do mine, just got her with 185k on the odo and showing some hard 2-1 downshift and after awhile some slight flaring, although the fluid looks decent, and no smell of burning whatsoever. Will be doing the Gibbons method this weekend.
troyhyde
There is a transmission fluid counter (counts hours hot) that you can re-set with Vida/Dice, recommended with a fluid change. Side note, it is well established that the OEM plugs are Bosch FR7DPP+, why anyone would pay 2x-3x the cost of these for "oem" (volvo ink stamp) is beyond my comprehension.
