Jh4music
There is an ebay seller selling reman bosch throttle bodies for about half of what a new one goes for from FCP or IPD. Has anyone tried one of these units? Are they worth the savings?
hootie6828
Which throttle body are you looking for? ETM, or the later style throttle body?

hootie6828
Just so you know, it's very rare to have issues with the later throttles. Not to say it's impossible, but not real likely. Are you sure the throttle is the source of your issue?

Not to say it's impossible, but not real likely. Are you sure the throttle is the source of your issue? I have codes for faulty accelerator pedal position sensor signal. I can not get these to go away, they come back as sson as I clear them, even if the car isn't running. These codes are keeping the car in "reduced engine performance" mode. I have already tried replacing the acclerator pedal, which did not fix the problem. I removed the throttle body, and popped the cover off the side, and one of the contacts on the resistor area looks burned. From what I have read, the throttle body itself can cause the APP codes since the two devices use the same signal. So it seems like the most logical place to go next. I also ordered a new throttle body connector, so I will try that before replacing the throttle body.
hootie6828
Ok, sounds like you are in the right track. Alot of throttle related issues are turning out to be wiring related, we have been replacing the throttle connector and pins, as well as the throttle pins on the ECM connector before replacing throttles. This seems to fix it 95+% of the time. It's a pain to do the ECM side, but still a heck of alot cheaper than a throttle.
Jh4music
Is there a way I can access a pinout diagram for the ECM? Or do I have to open up the wiring harness and trace the wires myself? this is an 04 xc90 T6

hootie6828
Sorry for the holdup: Pin1 Throttle-Pin A36 ECM BL-R Pin2 Throttle-pin A19 ECM GN-Y Pin3 Throttle-pin A59 ECM W Pin4 Throttle-pin A35 ECM GN Pin5 Throttle-pin A20 ECM BN Pin6 Throttle-pin A1 ECM GN-SB If you take the connector pin locations to your local volvo dealer they should be able to supply you with the right terminals. I wouldn't completely trust the wire colors, but the positions should be correct, and you can double check them with a meter from the throttle connector as well.
