JaredR1
Hey guys, looking for some feedback on running stock 850R springs (yellow marked) on Koni Yellows. Anyone doing this? I've heard from one member running Yellows up front with Nivos in the back who likes it and I want to try the same thing.....but I've heard from a few other members that Konis do not work on stock springs. Anyone else have experience before I start spending $$$?
andyb5
Pretty sure that's the same setup my friend has on the front of his 98 V70 AWD. I've only been in the car for a few short trips around town but I can say 16" wheels and the adjusters set to full soft, the ride is pretty comfy, definitely better controlled than Sachs dampers. ryan850-t5
What's your goal? keep stock height but have good handling? The car I got from Gary has OEM (Sachs) Struts/shocks with IPD springs and its a very nice ride.
JaredR1
My goal is to have a setup that has good ride quality for the abysmal New England roads since that's where about 85% of my driving happens, and I also want to retain load leveling, which definitely constrains the ride height since you can't do much with the Nivomats in that way. I'd give up the load leveling if I ever got a set of Öhlins, but, barring that, I obviously want the handling to be as good as possible within those constraints. The hope is that, if I can do Konis up front and add an IPD sway in the back, it will be soft enough for a DD in New England but controlled enough for any awesome roads I find when I'm on road trips.
