adamdrives
Pulling my hair out on this one. Customer car, I've worked on it a bunch, has a 3" dp and race cat from EuroSport. Day 1: Car has a few codes for o2 sensors. They are both used so we put in new ones, getting a tune in the future, might as well stage 0. No more codes from sensors. Day 2: Now car has a code for catalytic efficiency. I would rather not put a spacer on rear o2 this car as owner wants it "legit". Day 3: identifix, forums agree that maf should read between 3-4.5 grams/sec at idle. Car reads 4.75. Replace maf with new Bosch. Reads the same. Day whatever: Not a big believer in cleaning TBs but try it and find missing gasket. That must be it, even though didn't show in boost leak test. ETM connector is also filled with oil, so looking good. Clean everything up. Driven 25 miles or so and no codes, but maf now reads 5.5-6 g/s at idle. p0422 is back. Through one drive cycle p0455 popped up as well, takes a while for monitor to clear. Go for that/smoke test evap system first? Maybe just a vac leak somewhere causing bad afr? Ihatespeedbumps
You are only going to fix P0422 with a rear o2 sensor spacer if it has a high flow cat. No way around it. I use this one https://www.amazon.com/Vibrant-11619-J-Style-Restrictor-Adjustable/dp/B00AQ7972O P0455 is unrelated to the other code. I need model/year of the Volvo before I can help you with that one.
