gilber33
The blower motor quit in our 06 XC90 suddenly. Will not turn on in manual or auto climate settings. I pulled the codes in VADIS and got a code for blower motor signal too low and as a result the car does not allow it to run. I also got several other codes related to the ECC system. Both screen shots are attached. I think this is a chicken or the egg scenario. I'm wondering if the system detected a failed blower motor and it shuts down the ECC system, would that ultimately trigger the other DTCs? Or is the blower motor DTC part of a larger issue? I haven't checked the signal wires for the blower motor yet. That's tonight.
Ihatespeedbumps
You are likely going to need a blower motor/power stage. Read the directions before you start, it's going to be fun...

Just have to sacrifice one of the bolt brackets. Which is better than removing the dash.
boxpin
I have pulled the squeaky blower motor out twice in our XC90, no big deal. With the carpet and pad pulled back there is plenty of room to get to that back screw. I know that does not help you with the issue but at least is a little reassuring about removing the fan. gilber33
Thanks, that does help. I'm assuming it's the blower motor. Everything I've read sound like it's a common failure. I haven't seen anything where's it's an entire system failure.
