Brad850
Does anyone know if wastegate spring ratings are measured by crack pressure? I have a few Kinugawa springs that all begin to open well before their spring rating. The 14.5psi spring begins to move the arm at around 7psi, and the 17psi spring opens around 10psi. I'm wondering if these ratings take a specified pre load into account, or if the rating is based off of something else. I'm hoping they are labeled correctly. Also it looks like I may have answered my own questions. My wastage kit came with a chart, and it has the crack pressure for each spring at any given pre load. Looks like the spring classification is based off of the full stroke pressure, not the crack pressure.
hnygt4
the kinugawa spring ratings are based on fairy tales!! with an ebc maxed out a 1.2bar spring only allowed 1.5bar before blowing open and my current 1.5bar spring gives just over a bar on wg pressure, but does allow over 2bar maxed

I don't plan on running much higher than 20psi on my gtx30 so it looks like I can maybe use the 1.2 bar spring. I also have a dual port actuator so I'm hoping that may help. Yea I mean turning it and higher and higher and nothing changing as the wg is blowing open, the springs are cheap and easy to change, buy a couple and find what works best for you. If the gtx turbos are anything like the gt's, your 20psi idea won't last long
