Geevs
When I took off my front wheel, I found a piece of round rubber freely resting on the subframe. The part number is 3507606 and searching google returned "Front Mount Buffer". http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/engine/engine-mountings/buffer-engine-mount/1052021/ Mine looks like this except the rubber tab has broken off. What is the purpose of this piece? And how important is it to get this piece replaced with a new one? Thanks!
TryingBe
It stops the engine hitting the subframe.
Brad850
If your trans casing was resting on or touching the pad it means you should replace your two main hydraulic motor mounts. The pad is more of an indicator of motor mount health, rather than a bump stop. Yes it will stop the trans from hitting the subframe, but under normal conditions your trans casing should never be making contact with it. I would replace it with a new one. Geevs
Thanks guys! On another note, I've started to notice an intermittent clicking/ticking sound after I turn off the engine. The sounds comes every 5 seconds or so, and lasts for a couple of minutes. What could be causing this?
bmdubya1198
What kind of ticking? Do you mean ticking from the exhaust cooling off?
