erikv11
One side doesn't flip down when I push the button on the dash. The other side does so I interpret it isn't a fuse a relay problem. Is there a way to manually release the headrest? If I can flip down the headrest then I can get at the mechanism and either figure out what is wrong with the unit (some kind of solenoid latch?) or replace it. Ihatespeedbumps
Fuse F19 on the REM controls power to both headrest solenoids. You can manually push the headrest down as shown in the picture below. You'll need to make sure you have power into the solenoid and of course a good ground as well. My bet is you have a bad solenoid.
erikv11
Maybe that top diagram is for different years or manual headrests. I went back in the working side and the setup is different on my 06. But it inspired me to actually look over the mechanism, it wasn't too hard to flip down the stuck one. I was able to release the headrest using a 5 mm allen wrench. Insert the allen key into the right side headrest hole, there is an extra channel around the plastic trim. With the L posting straight down, rotate the end of the wrench clockwise so it pushes on the latch and releases the headrest. I lucked out, just some silicone lube got everything working again, hopefully the solenoid isn't crapping out.
