ArMiGer
Just did the Ostrich v2 soldering. I used the floppy cable and solder it on the place of the chip according to the instructions on the M4.4 wiki. Tuner pro is detecting the ostrich. I can upload and download bin. I can save it as a file also. Bank is 8 and the ostrich switches on the right position. The ECU is 100% good one (prior the ostrich installed). I used to flash it and it was working. The problem is when the ECU is in the car and key in possition II, the fan is running like the ECU is in boot mode. Car is not starting when tried. Swaped the Ostrich ECU with the original and car is running fine. Any ideas of what could be wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Boxman
Got any pics of the soldering job? It's possible one or two leads didn't go on exactly right.
ArMiGer
Yes. One possibility would be some wire not on the right place. Going to check this soon. Update: Two wires was misplaced. Now it is working
Dangerous Dave
I had the same problem with my ecu when using a socket for the eprom. If there wasn't a good connection between the chip and the socket pins (caused by handling the chip) the cooling fan would run.
