1998 T5 ECU needed!

Hey all! I'm planning on swapping in 'white' 350cc injectors, a 16T, and a '98 T5 ECU in my 1998 V70 GLT.

Only issue is, I'm having serious trouble finding a T5 ECU! I need an automatic one...

I've scoured Ebay and various other sites and they all seem to be non-turbo ECUs. I've found R and T5 upgrades online and they're all relatively expensive (150-200 bucks).

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Ellie

You're planning on plug-and-play?!  You know the T5 ecu is mapped for 8.5:1 compression ratio, but your GLT engine is 9.0:1, yes?  You realize while that will give you more boost, knock (and therefore knock induced ignition retard) will come along with it?

If that's what you want, how close is your nearest pic-n-pull?  Found this one:

https://www.picknpull.com/vehicle_details.aspx?VIN=YV1LS5347W1425876

The ecu out of that should be what you want; they usually get around $60 unless you go on discount day..

Thanks a lot for pointing that out, I had no clue the engines use different compression ratios.

I’ve read posts of people swapping the ecu, turbo, and injectors and running it successfully so I guess I thought it wouldn’t be too bad of an idea.

Maybe I should suck it up and order a tune.

Lots of people use the T5 ECU in their GLTs along with the T5 injectors (white or blue) and a 15g/16t. It seems to be perfectly fine, but of course the best thing to do would be to get a tune. Vast is a great tuner for M4.4.
