zmarshm1
Title says it all. I think most everyone here has seen that RWD swapped white t5 over in Europe "drifting" in the IKEA parking lot. Has anyone ever actually put together a list of parts needed to achieve remounting the engine sideways and putting in a differential/different rear end to supplement this build? Can't really find anything on it, don't really plan on doing it ever but it'd be cool to have some input for future enthusiasts. I was a bit curious on the build and couldn't find anything other than a corvette rear end, custom engine mounts, and swiss airforce grade hose clamps on everything. Thanks a lot everyone. bmdubya1198
Now that's definitely interesting... but I'd have no idea where to even start. You would need completely new front and rear subframes among other things. This is similar to that BMW M62, RWD swapped Saab 9-5. That's another really interesting build. Also, to OP- I think anyone who would need a tutorial or a parts list would likely not be able to complete a build of this scope.

Stefan Mohammed
Doing something like this would require extensive fabrication knowledge and skill. The car that you featured looks likes it's a custom tube chassis that has P2 V70 body panels attached to it. In essence, you are building a car 'from the ground up' and making it look like a V70. Definitely doable, but not within the reach of the casual car enthusiast. To answer your original question: Custom Tubular Chassis Custom Engine Mounts Re-purposed/Custom Front Suspension Members Re-purposed/Custom Steering System Re-purposed/Custom Rear Subframe Re-purposed/Custom Rear Suspension Members Re-purposed/Custom Differential Re-purposed/Custom Gearbox Custom Adapter Plate or Bell Housing Standalone Engine Management Unit 'Built' Motor Re-purposed/Custom Brake Kit ... you get the idea 😉

ChristiaanW200
Another option would be getting a awd rear suspention and fitting that with a stronger diff/houding. and with a custom subframe or modified sump you might get away with the engine. icrashcars
Audi guys convert their AWD cars to RWD all the time. In the audi world, they weld their center diff and modify the front axles/ disconnect them. (still in place to hold bearings in place). I dont know enough about the Volvo AWD drive systems to say for sure, but you may be able to go down a similar route. https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/231660-RWD?highlight=RWD

Because the front diff is open, without the passenger axle, no power was sent to the drivers side. The angle gear always sees full power because of how the collar gear connects to the front diff. In my case, power to the rear was somewhat limited by the viscous coupler. If you were going to drive like that long-term, I would remove the viscous coupler from its housing and extend the driveshaft to transfer 100% power to the rear diff. I’ve toyed with trying that idea on a cheap XC but never actually did so.

mynewvolvoexp
It's a hell of a lot of work and I admire anyone that does it. I'd probably go the route of finding an old first gen V90 and T6'ing it and make the T6 to get like 400HP. I don't want to discourage anyone that's just me LOL
