What is this gasket from/for?

Hi all,

on my V70 1999 2.3 T5 I have an oil leak somewhere. Now I have cleaned everything and is obvious the oil return line from the turbo is getting an oil film on the engine side. I have ordered the rubber O-ring gasket using my VIN together with the paper gasket. The O-ring I did get is totally something different - see attached images - the original is the red one, the green is what I have gotten. Much wider and narrower. Even is a form gasket, I doubt it should be that much different in the fitment? They are refusing to take it back and I wonder, does the green larger one was used really on these pipes, either later or earlier or different volvo models? Or did they perhaps sold me one for the dipstick instead or some for the oil pan?

The point is, this O-ring did not come in a package/foil or clipped to anything, there is no number stamped on it I could search google what it is for.

My receipt is saying 30637866, which does sound somehow correct, although I can see some webpages which list this for a 200x XC70 diesel model rather then my 99 T5. But since is not packaged they might have gotten it mixed on the shelves - correct number, wrong part.

My oil cooler is leaking as well and I have now doubts to order seals for it using my VIN as not sure if only I had bad luck or if the guys at the dealership have no idea what they are doing and they will again order something incorrect, I will pay for and not be able to use.

Thanks for advise!

Yeah, that looks more like an oil pickup o-ring. I need to replace that same o-ring on my V70R, and when I was searching (can never remember the PN) the oil pickup tube o-ring always comes up.

Looks like they gave you the wrong part.
