EST Downpipe

Well it's swedish. I don't know the name - it came with the car (i bought it used).

According to the car dealer it came from Volvo perf.

It looks like Steves except its in one piece.

It was a complete set with ecu, dp, rear muffler and air filter.

The ecu was scraped by the dealer due to the fact that the car ate maf sensors at regular intervals.

I had the car dealer replace the dp and muffler with the org.

I then had the car chipped by BSR and it ran with no probs. until i fitted the 3" dp again.

I don't know if the cat was matched with the ecu (if that's pos. at all).

I still haven't received a response from Frank.

Even if it will fit by removing the subframe, that doesn't sound like a good idea.

Sigh...

yeah, you have to drop the subframe to install sway bars etc... nothing to it really.

I finally received a response from Frank today, this is what he had to say:

Regarding the down pipe, I talked to one of our techs that mounted the pipe before and he explained to me that the system takes a different route then the factory down pipe. Instead of the sharp curve stock pipe which comes down on the left side of the driveshaft our down pipe stays on the right side which is maybe why you where having problems installing it. Try installing it this way and let me know how you make out.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

Does this sound like it could work? I don't feel like paying the labour cost for nothing again.

Ah. No, he sent some pictures and we discussed the routing when we were on the phone. The e-mails listed above was after that. However, if the DP routes the exhaust on the passenger side it would be kinda hard to get it over to the drivers side where it needs to be. It would have to go under the driveshaft or something. I'm thinking it's for FWD's but like I said I've abandoned this project for now due to time constraints.

Tell you what,  I will throw the downpipe and hardware in the car and head your way.  I am in Alexandria.  We can both look at it and try to put it on.  Deal?

I am going to figure out what the weekend plans are this afternoon evening. I will drop a message afterwards. Hopefully I can be available. I thought the same thing after loooking at everything. Looks like the exhaust is headed straight into the driveshaft?
