gaterp
I'm going to look at a 1996 850 r blk with 66k on it. They are asking 10k for it and I would really like to pay about 8k for it is this a fare offer from me. I don't want to insult anyone. I'm also selling a 850 glt 1995 with 140k on it. I'm getting the belt done this week, all service done on time. I don't have a clue what to ask for it. Some advice please.Gaterp.
prasamin
for your GLT, I would say 4-5k MAX, but realistically about 3.5-4the R you're looking at, depending on condition and maintenance, I would pay about 8-9k only because the mileage is LOW.....you can also go to www.kbb.com and check values.... Mesoam
R's are overpriced for what they are i think 8k is a good price...some people would say that is absurdly low but i don't think so...
Gregg
That is a pretty good price for an R with such low mileage. I paid $8k for mine in August '03 and it had 106k miles on it at the time. What did it for me, though, was that the car was coming from Texas and had never seen a new england winter - thus, I knew there would be no rust on it.If I were you I'd pay no more than $8,500-$9,000, mainly because of the low mileage, depending on the mechanical condition of the car, AFTER you get it checked out by a mechanic. If it hasn't had the rear main seal replaced yet, that is a $600-$1,000 job and you can use this fact in getting a lower price on the vehicle. I believe the timing belt is supposed to be replaced around 70k miles too?
Guest Guest
Went to look at the 850r today, very clean car (paint is awesome), belt done 2 months. The lady works 2 miles from her house so not much turbo time. Wheels are in the normal shape(wheel scrapes etc). The trunk needs to be fixed, the piston in the truck is bad. It's the same issue I have in my 850 GLT($300). Interior has no wear at all there is little sweak in the passenger seat that I mentioned to her and she heard and told me she had not heard that before because no one sit there. Back seat is brand new. Brakes done as well all service up to date.
